Diversity research initiative
Speaker:
Dr. Edward Tekwa, they/them (Postdoc, University of British Columbia/University of Toronto)
We will be hosting a new type of event–we want to try and write research papers focusing on diversity in science, and we want your help! This Friday’s session is going to be focused on brainstorming ideas and determining roles for all who are interested! We will present some ideas on diversity research papers, including name representation among knowledge producers, gender inequality life cycle, etc. Everyone is welcome for the discussion, and those who identify with one or more equity-seeking groups are encouraged to join as collaborators. We are looking for database wranglers, theorists, and anyone passionate about making a difference for diversity in academia!
